Brodert is a good source of information. He should tell of his doubts of the lighthouse, he should divulge a bit of history about ancient thassilon and the runelords, and ask them to bring him back anything about liralarue or books about thassilon

Now Sheila is a dear friend of mine so when she asks for a team, I assemble one no questions asked so I don't have much information. You'll travel through the maze of the open road to heidmarch manor and she'll brief you on the mission. Now this mission is a bit peculiar but I think it could benefit the society, and golarion at large in the long run. You will be traveling north to a town called sandpoint. The high priest there, a man by the name of abstalar zantus has commissioned for a team. Absalar is in good standing with the society and, given recent events that transpired in sandpoint, I feel it's worth checking out. You see, sandpoint is of great interest to us for a great many reasons. Almost 2 decades ago, it was the location of a near cataclysmic event that would have seen thousands of people die.
Until recently, much of varisias history before earthfall was lost to the ages, however the events that took place in sandpoint 20 years ago shed light on the ancient past. Scholars have since learned of an ancient empire, the empire of thassilon, made up of powerful arcane magic users. Scholars are still piecing together the details, but from what they've learned there were 7 arcane leaders, called runelords, who were able to magically preserve their essence and survive earthfall. One of them almost returned to sandpoint to bring death and devastation to golarion until a group of adventures were able to defeat him.
We want you to use this opportunity in sandpoint to see what else you can learn about the thassilonian empire and it's runelords so we can be prepared if any of them try to rise again.
